A
number of large building projects are being planned
for downtown Kirkland at the Bank of America site,
the Hector's site and the U.S. Bank site. The
Design Review Board's web page is a good source of
information and conceptual drawings -- http://www.ci.kirkland.wa.us/depart/Planning/DRB_Meeting_Information.htm
Touchstone
Development has purchased Parkplace and has a web
site up to keep us informed and offer a means of
communicating about their plans: envisionkirklandparkplace.com
The City also has a web page devoted to the
Parkplace proposed amendments:

The
Port
of Seattle has purchased the BNSF rail corridor through
Kirkland and the Moss Bay Neighborhood.
"Cross-Kirkland Trail" could become a
reality.
Read the story in the Kirkland Reporter http://www.kirklandreporter.com For more info on
the commuter rail/trail proposal, go to the Discovery
Institute web site.
Annexation
is the big issue in town these days. Get up to speed
on the city's annexation web page:

Cast
Your Name in Stone!! The Kirkland Heritage
Society is working with the City of Kirkland to raise
funds to complete the walkway at Heritage Hall, located at the
foot of Market Street. Fill out this
form and buy a personalized paving stone. It's not too late to buy one --
still spaces left to fill.
Problems
in your neighborhood with barking dogs, burned out street
lights, party homes or other annoyances? The City of
Kirkland offers help on their Neighborhood
Toolkit page.
Check
out our Historic Photographs!
Our neighborhood and Kirkland as a whole have changed a
lot in the past 50-100 years.
Here
is a cool way to research historic Kirkland. Find
info on friends, relatives, businesses, or just news of
days bygone by searching
the archives of the old East Side Journal, Kirkland's hometown newspaper from 1918-1975.
Find a story of interest, then look it up in the Kirkland
Library's microfilm archives of the paper. Your webmaster
would be glad to help, if needed.
Keep
up with developments on plans to update the Evergreen
Point Bridge at the WSDOT Trans
Lake Washington Project web site.
We’d
love to hear from you. Please
us with your comments and suggestions.
